Versilia is extending for ~160km of beaches with shallow waters; there are also mountains with the height bigger than 1700m. There also many opportunities of night life: numerous pubs, places where the concerts of different groups are held, and various discotheques where one can spend a pleasant evening.

Not far from Lucca is situated Montecarlo, a small city that emerges on an isolated hill (163 meters above the sea level), still being surrounded by the ring of its picturesque fortified walls. Montecarlo is famous above all with its wine, and extra virgin olive oil. The most popular event taking place in the city's life is undoubtedly the wine road of the hills around Lucca and Montecarlo (Strada del Vino delle Colline Lucchesi e di Montecarlo). The itinerary would be ideal for the fans of wine tourism, as well as for any other visitors willing to enrich their wine knowledge through getting profoundly acquainted with the region and its products. It is possible to buy the wine directly from the wineries.

Extra virgin olive oil is a typical most renowned product of the Lucca region, being well known throughout the world for its delicate taste and bright color - because it is really bright, very light and tasty. It can be used for any type of diet: from childrens menu to elderly peopleís diet.
